Blogging...but not for money

My first blog post sets out my reasons for starting a blog in 2024.
In short, I started a blog because I want to share my life updates and creative projects with friends and random interested people on the internet ....BUT, not on social media. Because social media platforms the have become useless for this purpose.
Having started this blog, I became eager to find people blogging for similar reasons. I expected to find an existing personal blog culture.
I seem to have been naive. When I search "blogging" on the internet I find that it is all about making money. "How to easily start a blog in 2024 and make money." Even searching "personal blogging" I get articles on how to make money through blogging. NO!
Here is a good article about the rise and fall of blogging. And it includes a call for a return of personal blogging which I applaud. But it is only a call.
I simply want to write about my life and the location is "on the internet" - not major social media site. And I want my friends to find it and enjoy it.
Am I on the cutting edge of a new movement?? Or the final days of a dead movement?
Maybe I need to recruit my friends....
Thanks, that was an interesting article (the comments too.) Maybe you could do a post about the nuts and bolts -- e.g., what software or whatever it is you are using, etc. It doesn't look like you are using Wordpress or anything like that. Are you hosting it yourself? (Is such a thing possible? Sorry, although I lived through the Golden Age of BloggingTM I'm still basically a noob....)
